Cyberleek Hacker Group Threatens to Release Full GTA 6 Build

The hacker group Cyberleek has issued an ultimatum to Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games. The hackers demand the release of GTA 6 on physical media and an apology. They did not specify what the apology should be for. Otherwise, they threaten to release the full build of the game with the storyline campaign.

The main condition is not related to Take-Two, but to cryptocurrency. Cyberleek is promoting its own memecoin $CYBERLEEK on the Solana blockchain and promises to publish the build only after the token's capitalization reaches $30 million. This implies that the publication will not happen even if Take-Two ignores the demands—the decisive factor remains the memecoin's value.

The group has tried to monetize the leak before: shortly before Rockstar's broadcast on Netflix, the hackers withdrew about $250,000 from their token. They then went silent for a long time but returned this week with a new batch of materials—footage of both main characters in minimal clothing, spoilers of key plot events, and promises of new publications in exchange for increased capitalization. Previously, the group spoke about protecting gamers' rights to own purchased games; this is not mentioned in the new message.

The target is still far off: $CYBERLEEK's capitalization is about $5 million, and it is declining after peaking at $7.6 million. The decline may be related to a previous promise: at a capitalization of $6 million, the group promised to publish "close-ups in 4K, fully nude" of the main character Lucia.

The leaks are accompanied by third-party fraud. After the initial leaks, an alleged GTA 6 disk image of 113 GB spread online—a check showed that the file is 99.99% zeros and contains malware about 50 KB in size.

The quality of Cyberleek's videos also raises complaints: the videos are recorded with incorrect HDR tonal mapping, the image looks dull and overexposed, and the gameplay is reduced to monotonous actions.

Rockstar and Take-Two have not directly responded to the demands. In the only statement, Rockstar called the gameplay leaks "heartbreaking" for the development team. The release of GTA 6 is scheduled for November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series.
