Demand for Bitcoin ETF May Decrease Despite Price Support

Demand for Bitcoin ETFs may be gradually declining despite supporting the recovery of Bitcoin's price. Over the past 30 days, net inflows into Bitcoin ETFs have remained positive, amounting to approximately 30,000–40,000 BTC. However, the pace of these purchases has weakened as Bitcoin recently settled above $80,000, indicating that buying pressure may be losing its momentum. Nevertheless, according to Ecoinometrics, this slowdown is relatively mild compared to previous periods when ETF demand sharply disappeared. "At the moment, ETF demand still supports Bitcoin's recovery. But it shouldn't last too long," analysts added.

The dynamics of Bitcoin ETF also varied during the first nine days of October. According to Farside, on October 1, Bitcoin ETFs recorded net inflows of $102.7 million, mainly due to BlackRock's IBIT product, which attracted $195.6 million. On October 2, inflows increased to $189.9 million, including $158.2 million in IBIT and $29.3 million in FBTC. However, on October 5, there were net outflows of $89.8 million. In the following days, the situation fluctuated: on October 6, inflows amounted to $118.8 million, while on October 7, outflows intensified to $484.9 million, including $207.7 million from IBIT and $105.1 million from FBTC. On October 8, another $244.1 million exited the ETFs, mainly from FBTC. By October 9, inflows slightly increased again to $21.1 million, as IBIT attracted $22.4 million, offsetting modest outflows from FBTC.

Meanwhile, other crypto ETFs experienced mixed results in October, reflecting different investor sentiments. Ethereum ETFs, for example, recorded the largest outflows with total losses of $634.80 million. At the same time, Binance ETFs managed to attract $98.89 million, indicating relatively high demand from investors. XRP ETFs also showed positive inflows of $12.09 million. In contrast, Solana ETFs lost $29.42 million, indicating some fund withdrawals despite the expressed interest in the ecosystem. Additionally, Hyperliquid ETFs also experienced minor outflows of $1.09 million. At the moment, many other altcoins are filing for their ETFs with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Recently, the SEC approved Cboe BZX's proposal to amend rules, removing obstacles for listing 3x daily leveraged ETFs related to Bitcoin (BITH), Ethereum (ETHK), gold (GDLU), silver (SLVK), oil (OILY), and natural gas (NATX).
