Deutsche Bank forecasts a moderate recovery in UK GDP in February, following a weak January. The bank estimates that monthly growth likely stood at around 0.2%.
For the first quarter, analysts anticipate economic expansion of approximately 0.3%, although recent calculations suggest a more modest range. The services, industrial, and construction sectors are expected to provide support, despite continued unevenness in sectoral data.
Specific segments—including transport and the hospitality sector—may show growth following their weakness in January. At the same time, retail sales, according to the bank's estimates, remained under pressure.
For the full year 2026, Deutsche Bank forecasts economic expansion of 0.7% but warns of downside risks. Key constraining factors include high energy prices and lingering uncertainty surrounding the situation in the Middle East.
