ProCap Financial CEO Anthony Pompliano stated that Bitcoin can grow in price without limit, as an increase in the volume of US currency in the financial system raises the value of scarce assets. The top manager linked his conclusions to the recent decision by the US Treasury Department to increase the volume of long-term Treasury bond buybacks. Starting September 9, 2026, the maximum size of a single such operation is set to at least double — from $2 billion to $4 billion. The department explained the move as necessary to improve liquidity in the long-term government debt market.
According to the ProCap Financial CEO, the department's actions demonstrate the willingness of US authorities to inject funds into the financial system. Pompliano considers the expansion of the money supply one of the short-term factors capable of pushing up the price of the leading cryptocurrency. "Bitcoin has no ceiling because the dollar has no floor. The US government will never stop printing money," Pompliano stated, expressing his personal view on macroeconomic processes.
Additionally, according to the top manager, the development of artificial intelligence technologies is making computing power and knowledge more accessible. In such conditions, investors, in his assessment, will place greater value on assets with a limited supply, among which Bitcoin is included. The chief problem of the American economy, the ProCap Financial CEO noted, is excessive government spending. According to him, high levels of expenditure have been observed under administrations of both major political forces in the country, which forces authorities to actively intervene in the debt market to keep it functioning.
Previously, Anthony Pompliano expressed the view that a 40% correction in Bitcoin from its all-time highs could create conditions for reaching a new price record. In his assessment, the deeper the price pullback, the stronger the subsequent rally could be, driven by the so-called "slingshot effect" — a market phenomenon in which prolonged consolidation leads to accelerated movement following a breakout of key resistance levels.
