Elon Musk's artificial intelligence development company SpaceXAI may be renamed to SpaceXSI – Musk announced this intention on October 4, 2026.
This would be the third name in a year: since July 6, the company has been called SpaceXAI, and it was previously named xAI. The new name SpaceXSI reflects the concept of 'Super Intelligence' (SI), which is part of an initiative supported by President Donald Trump. The replacement of the term 'artificial intelligence' (AI) with 'Super Intelligence' has become part of a broader policy announced by Trump on September 29. Elon Musk stated in his post on X: 'No more AIs, SIs are better.' He also mentioned that SpaceX is a 'super intelligence company.' However, despite these statements, the website and social media still display the name SpaceXAI – there is no legal renaming or exact date yet.
On September 29, Trump signed an executive order directing federal agencies to stop using the term 'artificial intelligence' in their documents. The text of the order states: 'the executive branch will not recognize the use of "Artificial Intelligence" and "AI" in any applicable context.' The president's administration argues that the term 'artificial' makes technologies seem like a copy of human thinking. On the same day, Musk signed a voluntary safety pact at the White House – along with leaders from Nvidia, Google, OpenAI, Meta, and Anthropic. SpaceX was registered on Nasdaq under the symbol SPCX, raising $75 billion at a valuation of $1.77 trillion. Its AI division is creating Grok – a chatbot integrated into X.
