Large holders of Ethereum and institutional investors have made significant purchases of Ethereum totaling around $100 million amid rising inflows to Binance. According to a report by Lookonchain, one whale exchanged 512 Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), worth approximately $38.64 million, for 26,924 ETH, valued at nearly $64.57 million. Additionally, the investment fund Abraxas Capital acquired 13,700 ETH for $34.24 million. Thus, these two transactions collectively amounted to about $100 million in new Ethereum purchases.
The inflow of Ethereum to Binance has reached approximately 709,400 ETH, marking the highest level of daily inflows since June. This increase contrasts with the recent large purchases by whales and institutional investors, creating a clear tension between supply and demand for Ethereum. While increased inflows to the exchange may heighten selling pressure, this does not always lead to immediate selling. Nevertheless, the observed purchases by large investors may help absorb the growing supply of ETH amid range consolidation. This influence from major players could mitigate the potential impact of increased ETH inventories on the exchange.
The MVRV parameters for Ethereum also indicate that market conditions have changed following the price correction in June and July. The MVRV Ratio fell to 0.70 during this correction, indicating significant unrealized losses among holders. However, after the recovery in Ethereum prices, the MVRV Ratio has approached 1.0 again, suggesting that the average market value has recovered. This recovery, coupled with large purchases, confirms that capital is beginning to re-enter the market following the price recovery. Thus, the accumulation by large holders is becoming an important factor in the current dynamics of the Ethereum market.
