Ferrari unveils interior of electric car of the future

Ferrari has unveiled the interior of its debut electric car, called Luce, which translates from Italian as “light.” The LoveForm design team, led by former Apple chief designer Jony Ive, worked on the project for five years. The main feature of the interior is the fundamental rejection of touch screens, which dominate the industry, in favor of tactile mechanical buttons, toggle switches, and dials, which, according to the creators, should restore the driver's intuitive and emotional interaction with the car.
The interior showcases a number of innovative solutions. The steering wheel, inspired by classic models from the 1950s and 1960s, is made of recycled aluminum and weighs 400 grams less than the standard version. The unique Corning glass key with an E Ink display changes color when activated, and the center console on a ball joint can be rotated towards the driver or passenger. The dashboard with two OLED screens moves with the steering wheel, and recycled aluminum and milled glass are used throughout the interior.
The exterior is scheduled to be unveiled in May 2026, and the electric car will cost more than €500,000.
