Franklin Templeton and Animoca Plan to Expand NUVA Asset Lineup

Franklin Templeton and Animoca Brands announced on October 9 a collaboration to attract tokenized real-world assets from a broader range of issuers to NUVA, a vault market supported by Animoca and created in conjunction with Nuva Labs. This will expand the offering beyond the existing assets on the Provenance blockchain. The statement did not specify the investments planned to be added or the date of their appearance.

"The next phase is expanding how these assets can be accessed, utilized, and integrated into increasingly digital investment ecosystems," said Sandy Kaul, Head of Digital Assets and Innovations at Franklin Templeton. NUVA was launched on Ethereum in May 2026. Its initial offerings included nvYLDS, a vault with a YLDS instrument backed by short-term treasury bills and bank deposits, and nvPRIME, backed by PRIME tokens with access to Figure home equity lines of credit. This structure has already brought Provenance-based assets into the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem. The new collaboration aims to expand the sources of these underlying investments.

According to NUVA documentation, users deposit assets such as USDC and receive vault tokens representing a proportional share in it. The tokens use the ERC-20 standard, allowing them to be used in DeFi strategies. The vault holds the underlying tokenized assets, and investors own the vault tokens. The companies have also launched a joint research series on institutional tokenization. They will explore the possibility of jointly developing and tokenizing real cultural assets, with details expected later in 2026.
