Headphones with Eyes: Lofi Girl Released a Gadget for $225

The YouTube channel Lofi Girl has decided to materialize a detail that viewers have seen in animation for years. This refers to the massive headphones on the head of the character Jade, who sits at a desk next to a cat in 24/7 streams. Now, this accessory is available for purchase. The channel has opened a limited pre-order for the LOFI PRO model, pricing it at $225. The wireless device with active noise cancellation is sold through the brand's official store, where it is described as Jade's headphones recreated from the on-screen design. Over the years of streaming, the channel's visual image has become almost as recognizable as its music. The brand has long expanded beyond the video platform: there are games, collaborations, an official map in Fortnite, and a synthwave companion, and a themed café is set to open in Paris.

Externally, the LOFI PRO almost replicates the cartoon original. The body is cream-colored, complemented by red trim and a black patterned rim around the edge of the cups. The signature eyes are attached with magnets: the owner can leave them for a complete resemblance to Jade or remove them and wear the headphones as a regular headset. The ear pads are also held by magnets, making them easy to remove for cleaning or replacement.

The technical part looks solid for a souvenir product. It claims up to 65 hours of battery life without noise cancellation and up to 48 hours with ANC enabled. The system suppresses external noise up to 30 dB, and there is a transparency mode for perceiving surrounding sounds. Bluetooth Multipoint is supported for simultaneous connection to two devices and wired connection via a 3.5 mm cable.

The pre-order started on October 19 and will last until November 14 or until stocks run out. According to Lofi Girl, customers who place an order by this date will receive the headphones by Christmas. The geography is limited: USA, China, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and Portugal.

The store calls the release small-scale. Once the batch is sold out, there will be no relaunch. In the box, the buyer will find a USB-C cable for charging, a 3.5 mm audio cable, and a user manual. The power adapter and case are not included, but the store separately sells accessories, including a travel case and replacement velour ear pads.
