On the streets of Beijing, Chengdu and Fuzhou spotted humanoid robots begging. Robots sit on sidewalks or kneel with their heads down, addressing passersby with phrases like "I don’t have money to charge my phone" and "Please pay my electricity bill." Next to them are placed QR codes for digital donations.
The reasons for such robots remain unclear. Some suggest it is an artistic installation designed to make passersby think about the absurdity of the relationship between humans and AI. This phenomenon has raised new concerns about automation - now even the unemployed may lose their "niche" to robots.
