Institutional interest in Chainlink (LINK) remains strong: Bitwise received LINK worth $1.17 million from market maker Wintermute, adding to a series of additions to the Bitwise Chainlink ETF. According to SoSoValue, approximately $10 million in new capital flowed into the fund over two days. However, the inflow did not lead to an increase in the fund's asset value. The cumulative net inflow amounted to about $179.61 million, while total net assets decreased from $249.41 million to $229.38 million. It is likely that the decline in LINK's price reduced the fund's asset value despite the growth in investor contributions.
Chainlink accounts for about 60.28% of the entire tracked oracle market. The volume of secured value is approximately $36.6 billion across more than 530 protocols. This demonstrates how heavily DeFi protocols rely on Chainlink's oracle infrastructure. Credit markets, derivatives, and tokenized assets require access to reliable external data. Internal protocol solutions account for 13.10% of the tracked value, while Chronicle accounts for 8.19%, meaning competitors have a significant gap to close. However, a large market share does not necessarily indicate increased demand for the LINK token.
Chainlink is expanding its presence in the tokenized asset space, moving beyond DeFi price feeds. The Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) supports transfers between networks, and oracles provide data for tokenized stocks and treasury bonds. With the launch of CCIP v2.0, Chainlink offers institutional clients greater control, including cross-network asset transfers and compliance-related features for tokenized assets. As institutions transition from pilot projects to full-scale use, this could generate regular commission income. However, mere adoption does not guarantee increased demand for the token: a clearer indicator will be the dynamics of CCIP usage, service revenue, and payments in LINK.
