Investors of the company Anthropic expect to hold an initial public offering of shares of the artificial intelligence developer as early as October this year. The expected valuation of the business upon entering the public market may be at least two trillion dollars. If these forecasts come true, the debut of Anthropic will be the largest initial public offering in history and surpass the June listing of the space company SpaceX, which was estimated at one trillion seven hundred and seventy billion dollars. The rapidly growing revenue will allow the startup to more than double its current estimate by the time trading begins. The developer of the popular chatbot Claude is able to show annual revenue in the range of one hundred to one hundred and twenty billion dollars by the end of this year, which means a tenfold increase since the beginning of 2000.

One of the major investors noted that with such impressive growth, the company could trade with a multiplier of thirty annual payments, even according to the most conservative estimates. This approach would provide Anthropic with a market capitalization of about three trillion dollars. By comparison, other well-known beneficiaries of the artificial intelligence boom, such as Palantir and Nebius, are currently trading at multiples of about fifty-five annual revenues. However, the company faces a number of growing risks on its way to a public offering, including increased competition from Chinese developers and significant regulatory pressure. In June of this year, Anthropic was forced to temporarily suspend access to its advanced Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models due to strict export restrictions by the US Department of Commerce, which caused some concern among some corporate customers.

Despite these difficulties, for the first time in history, the valuation of Anthropic overtook its main competitor OpenAI back in May, reaching nine hundred and sixty-five billion dollars, taking into account new funding rounds. In 2000 alone, almost one hundred billion dollars were invested in the development of this startup.
