The unique three-story building of the former private Manga Library is on sale in Sakata, Japan. The price of the object is only 1.9 million yen (about $11,750), with a collection of thousands of volumes of manga preserved inside.

The shelves still hold editions of iconic publications: Weekly Shonen Jump, CoroCoro Comic, and vintage magazine issues. The sellers decided not to vacate the building before sale, so the collection will go to the new owner almost unchanged.

The ad became viral after Japanese jutuber Yusuke Yoshikawa shared it on social media X. Many users recalled visiting the library as children or expressed a desire to save the collection. There have been comments about transforming the building into a public space, a private gathering or even a library.

However, the low price can be misleading. Local residents warn: the building is in poor condition, and demolition or major repairs may cost several times more than the purchase price. However, for manga fans this announcement remains an attractive opportunity to acquire a rare collection of books along with the space.
