Jim Cramer Names Nvidia and Broadcom as Key Winners of ChatGPT-6 Astra Launch

On the morning CNBC show, host Jim Cramer highlighted Nvidia and Broadcom as two companies that could benefit from the launch of ChatGPT-6 Astra by OpenAI. Cramer identified Nvidia as the primary beneficiary of the launch. During trading on Tuesday, Nvidia (NVDA) shares fell nearly 2% to $225.80, while Broadcom (AVGO) shares rose nearly 3% to $368.17.

OpenAI began rolling out Astra last week, calling it the most intelligent of its models. According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Astra was trained on approximately 100,000 Nvidia Grace Blackwell systems, and an additional 400,000 chips will soon be deployed for OpenAI. Cramer views this figure as a signal of sustained demand rather than a one-time order.

He also noted that a successful launch of Astra would bolster OpenAI's position and, consequently, Broadcom's order portfolio for custom chips. Broadcom, in collaboration with OpenAI, developed the Jalapeño chip, which was introduced in June 2026 and is designed for inference (running completed models).

According to analysts' forecasts, all 29 experts covering Nvidia recommend buying the company's shares, with a 12-month average price target of $325.23, suggesting a growth potential of 44%. For Broadcom, 26 analysts recommend buying, three suggest holding, with an average target of $521.41 (42% potential). Meanwhile, the minimum target price for Nvidia ($275) remains above the current price, while the minimum target for Broadcom ($350) is below the current stock value.
