Keel Infrastructure has completely decommissioned its American mining facilities. The former Bitfarms is preparing these sites to turn into data centers for artificial intelligence. At the same time, the organization continued to actively sell off its bitcoin reserves on the open market. From April to August, the company sold more than a thousand coins worth seventy-five million dollars. There are less than two thousand bitcoins left from the initial stock under management. The total liquidity of the company reached eight hundred nineteen million dollars due to free money. Revenue for the quarter was thirty million and halved compared to last year. The operating loss reached one hundred forty-one million dollars against the background of the production shutdown. The net loss of the organization amounted to sixty-five million dollars for the reporting period.
CEO Ben Gagnon announced a strategic focus on access to electricity. The head considers energy capacity to be the main limitation for the entire technology sector. The company's three priority sites are now close to receiving a full package of permits. Active negotiations are underway with several potential tenants for each of them. At the same time, the organization has not yet provided a single signed lease agreement in the report. Keel already has spare capacity in the area of the largest regional electric power operator. The company also noted the approval of zoning at several of its important production sites. In Sherbrooke, Canada, the company agreed on the conditional transfer of ninety-six megawatts of operating capacity. The management has acquired an additional plot of land for the construction of a future data center. The company's shares have fallen by more than twelve percent in recent trading.
Competitor Bitdeer continues to expand both areas of its global technology business. In the second quarter, this company produced almost five times as many bitcoins. The average hashrate of the organization has reached almost seventy hashes per second. Bitdeer's revenue grew by forty-seven percent and exceeded two hundred and twenty million dollars. At the same time, the company's net loss expanded to ninety-two million dollars. The company attributed the increase in costs to increased energy costs and depreciation of equipment. Bitdeer is actively converting part of its energy portfolio to the needs of artificial intelligence. In August, the company signed a sixteen-year agreement for a data center in Norway. The contract provides for almost five billion dollars in revenue and supplies of Nvidia equipment. In the United States, the company intends to convert a large mining site to cloud computing. Bitdeer shares have fallen by twenty percent in the last trading session on the stock exchange. The largest American company MARA has also sold more than twenty thousand bitcoins.
