Enflame Technology Plans to Issue 43.04 Million Shares in IPO

Chinese technology company Enflame Technology, specializing in the development of chips for artificial intelligence systems, has announced its preparation for an initial public offering (IPO). According to documents filed with regulators, the subscription for shares will open on September 2 on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market, which is focused on technology enterprises. The total amount of capital to be raised will be 6 billion yuan, equivalent to approximately $892.21 million.

As part of this offering, the company plans to issue 43.04 million new shares. This issuance will represent 10% of the company's expanded share capital, which will reach approximately 430 million shares following the deal. Preliminary price consultations are scheduled for August 28. The share allocation structure provides for 8.61 million shares to be allocated to strategic investors. Institutional investors will receive 27.54 million shares, while retail investors will receive 6.89 million shares. Enflame, founded in 2018 in Shanghai, receives financial backing from technology conglomerate Tencent Holdings.

Enflame Technology is among the companies that industry insiders describe as key GPU developers in the region. This list also includes Moore Threads, MetaX, and Biren Technology. The other three aforementioned companies went public on the exchange over the past year, reflecting the broader trend of capitalizing on the semiconductor sector. Enflame plans to direct the proceeds from the IPO toward research and development and the commercialization of fifth- and sixth-generation AI chips. The funding will also be used to implement joint innovation projects in the field of advanced software and hardware development for AI systems.

At the macroeconomic level, China is projected to see its most active year for technology company listings on the domestic market since 2023. Regulatory policy in this segment is aimed at increasing the number of publicly listed companies engaged in chip and artificial intelligence technology development. This measure is viewed as part of a strategy to ensure the industry's technological independence amid global economic competition.

At the same time, the market is demonstrating high volatility in this sector. The situation with shares of Unitree, a Chinese humanoid robot manufacturer, serves as an example of market dynamics. After more than a fivefold surge in value during its debut trading session in Shanghai, the stock subsequently corrected downward by approximately 45%. Market observers note that such fluctuations highlight the importance of assessing the fundamental metrics of technology companies, as market interest is not always synchronized with their actual financial performance.

The organization and support of Enflame's IPO are being handled by financial institutions. CITIC Securities is serving as the lead underwriter. Guotai Haitong Securities and GF Securities are acting as joint lead underwriters.
