Crypto Venture Investments Reach $5.68 Billion in Q2 2026

In the second quarter of 2026, venture investment in crypto and blockchain companies rose to $5.683 billion, which is 31% more compared to the first quarter, when the volume was about $4 billion. This quarter saw 384 deals, which is 10% more than in the previous period. A significant portion of the growth was driven by funding for more mature companies, which received about 78% of all investments this quarter, leaving 22% for younger companies. This indicates a growing concentration of capital in more mature startups.

According to a report by Galaxy Research, companies in the trading, exchange, investment, and lending sectors attracted $3.523 billion, accounting for nearly three-fifths of all venture capital investments for the quarter. Meanwhile, 73.5% of investments were directed to companies located in the United States, while American companies were involved in 39.1% of all deals. The report also indicates that for the first half of 2026, the total amount of funds raised was $10.018 billion across 744 deals, suggesting the possibility of reaching an annual investment level of about $20.037 billion, slightly below the 2025 figure of $20.3 billion.

Funding for large companies constituted the most significant category of investments. Despite a decrease in the number of new venture funds only five funds raised approximately $3.9 billion Galaxy noted that “fund managers still face a challenging environment.” At the same time, quarterly figures show that investment activity in the crypto sector has begun to regain its footing after a relatively weak start to 2026. It is important to note that the DeFi segment is experiencing a decline, as investments in this direction have reached their lowest level since the end of 2023.
