Christopher Jensen, who previously served as Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and Director of Digital Assets Research at Franklin Templeton, has been appointed CEO of StablecoinX. The company announced this on September 8, 2026, noting that the appointment takes effect immediately.
StablecoinX is a public company whose shares trade on Nasdaq under the ticker USDE. The company positions itself as the largest corporate holder of the ENA token issued by the Ethena protocol. StablecoinX holds approximately 3.03 billion ENA tokens in its treasury, representing roughly 20% of the total supply. Ethena, in turn, issues the synthetic dollar USDe. According to DefiLlama, USDe's circulating supply stands at nearly $4.4 billion, placing it fifth among the largest stablecoins. The ENA token serves as the governance instrument for the Ethena protocol, giving holders voting rights on changes to its operations.
Jensen succeeds Ted Chen as CEO, who led StablecoinX through its public listing in June 2026. Chen will remain with the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors, focusing on long-term strategy and capital markets positioning. Jensen will be responsible for the day-to-day management of StablecoinX's three business lines: infrastructure services, infrastructure software, and distribution services. He will also oversee treasury strategy, including the aforementioned ENA holdings.
Prior to joining StablecoinX, Jensen worked at Franklin Templeton, where he was one of the founding members of the digital assets group established in 2018. He served on the leadership team of that group and was a named portfolio manager on two funds. Franklin Templeton's venture arm participated in Ethena's seed round, giving Jensen early exposure to the protocol. Before Franklin Templeton, he served as an investment professional and member of the investment committee at SLR Capital Partners, where he was involved in investment research and deal structuring for two publicly traded vehicles. He began his career at CIT Group. Jensen holds an MBA from Yale School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Princeton University.
