The fintech company LiquidAcre, which is developing a platform to expand access to real assets and digital financial services, has chosen Uphold to provide trading, custody, user identification (KYC), and other services within the tokenized real estate infrastructure. LiquidAcre is creating a platform to modernize user access to real and digital assets. In the first phase of the ecosystem, the LiquidAcre wallet will be launched—a secure digital gateway providing users with access to digital assets and financial instruments in a simple and intuitive interface. In the second phase, the launch of the LiquidAcre marketplace is expected, where users will be able to discover and participate in tokenized projects. LiquidAcre is currently developing the legal, regulatory, and technological framework for this phase, and it is expected that digital securities and tokenization services will be provided through appropriate regulated third parties.
LiquidAcre's CEO and co-founder Wes Watkins stated: “Our goal is to enable participation in real estate and land ownership through blockchain in a regulatory-compliant, transparent, and user-friendly manner. Real estate represents one of the largest asset classes in the world, but access and liquidity remain significant challenges. We are confident that blockchain technology and regulated digital frameworks can create more efficient pathways for people to participate in real assets.”
Watkins also noted that the choice of Uphold was driven by their ability to launch a trading platform in weeks rather than years and their focus on compliance requirements.
Uphold CEO Simon McLoughlin commented that tokenized real assets open up new opportunities for investors across different asset classes. According to him, traditional asset classes are expected to be tokenized in the next five years, and Uphold is excited to be part of this transition, supporting LiquidAcre in providing more accessible tokenized real estate. Under the agreement, Uphold will provide a platform enabling investors to register, fund accounts, move funds, trade digital assets, and store tokenized assets. The Uphold platform includes the necessary compliance and technology to facilitate operations with digital assets and conversion between traditional currencies and digital assets. Uphold is regulated in the US, UK, and Europe, providing users with a high level of protection and trust.
