Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko believes that trade turnover with Kazakhstan could at least double. According to the head of state, Kazakhstan remains one of Belarus's key partners in Central Asia.
Although current mutual trade already exceeds $1.3 billion, the two countries intend to move forward and implement larger-scale economic projects. The President noted that opportunities for growth exist, and both countries are ready to seize them.
Belarus supplies Kazakhstan with a wide range of products, including dairy and meat products, as well as timber. Moreover, exports significantly exceed imports, ensuring a positive trade balance.
The services sector has also demonstrated additional growth: its volume increased by almost 6% last year. Kazakhstan also remains a significant investor in the Belarusian economy, having contributed tens of millions of dollars, some of which is direct investment.
