The Mexican billionaire and head of Grupo Salinas Ricardo Salinas Pliego compared bitcoin investments to real estate purchases, urging crypto enthusiasts not to dwell on short-term exchange rate fluctuations. In his view, the first cryptocurrency should be viewed as a tool to preserve wealth for decades, rather than an asset for speculation. Salinas advises regularly converting some of his fiat earnings to Bitcoin, betting on long-term savings and patience instead of impulse spending.

Developing an analogy, the billionaire noted that homeowners don’t wake up every morning to check the market value of their properties. They simply maintain the property in good condition, knowing that its value will inevitably rise over time. Similarly, according to Salinas, one should also behave towards the holders of Bitcoin: after purchasing an asset, it is necessary to withdraw from daily price increases and avoid excessive emotion by allowing time to do your job.

The billionaire’s statements came amid a noticeable correction in the crypto market: last month, Bitcoin fell by 14.2%, to $64,000 at a capitalization of $1.28 trillion, although daily trading volumes rose to $20.3 billion. Sám Salinas remains one of the first cryptocurrency’s most dedicated supporters, having previously revealed that about 70% of his personal investment portfolio is concentrated in Bitcoin and related assets, confirming his confidence in the long-term potential of digital gold.
