Executive Chairman of Strategy Michael Saylor, a well-known Bitcoin advocate, responded to a new study on which types of money artificial intelligence models prefer. "Smart money holds in Bitcoin," he wrote on X following the release of the quarterly update of the "Money for AI" project. Saylor considers Bitcoin (BTC) the perfect savings tool.
According to reports, the third-quarter update expands the original project: 13 more AI models have been added. They are tested in four financial tasks: future savings, payments, pricing and accounting, and transaction settlements. The aim of the research is to find out which monetary instruments the models would prefer if they acted as autonomous economic agents rather than under human control.
The first study by the Bitcoin Policy Institute, conducted in March, covered 36 AI models and 9,072 scenarios. It showed a noticeable preference for Bitcoin for long-term value preservation: 79.1% of choices compared to stablecoins, fiat money, and other cryptocurrencies. Overall, for all four tasks, Bitcoin was the most preferred tool: 48.3% of responses. For payments, stablecoins were more often chosen: 53.2% of responses compared to 36% for Bitcoin.
Additional research on nine new models showed a similar picture: Bitcoin was chosen for savings in 75.8% of cases, while stablecoins remained strong in payments. The results suggest that AI models differentiate between assets for value preservation and assets for transactions.
