A large mining company Riot Platforms has signed a huge long-term contract. The partner was the well-known Anthropic artificial intelligence laboratory. The deal provides for the lease of computing power in the U.S. state of Texas. The agreement will be valid for twenty years and will bring nine billion dollars. The first servers will start operating in a year and a half. The start-up costs for large-scale construction will be partially financed by Morgan Stanley Bank. The agreement also includes special options for an additional extension. The total potential value of this contract could easily reach sixteen billion.
At the same time, the company published its latest financial report for the second quarter. Total revenue grew steadily by fourteen percent and reached one hundred and seventy million. At the same time, the net loss amounted to more than two hundred and thirty million dollars. During the reporting period, the miners successfully mined more than one and a half thousand bitcoins. The company currently has more than one billion liquid assets in its accounts. The CEO noted the incredible speed of signing new lease agreements. The company's shares initially fell, but then jumped sharply by twenty-three percent. The miner is actively turning from mining crypts to servicing neural networks.
Many other relevant companies are currently making a similar profitable bet. Mining giants are massively renting out their sites to technology giants. The recent deal continues a January agreement with chipmaker AMD. Previously, Anthropic itself had already signed a similar large contract worth ten billion.
