Serbia's Finance Minister Siniša Mali held a working meeting with a delegation from the Solana network development foundation and representatives of a specialized research institute. The talks took place in the Serbian capital as part of an international industry conference, as the official announced on his social media page. The key topic of the dialogue was the formation of a modern technical framework for the circulation of digital financial rights and the introduction of advanced computing methods into the national economic system.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed a range of issues related to the issuance of digital counterparts of traditional assets. Priority areas of cooperation included the improvement of the regulatory framework, the technological modernization of the national capital market, and the practical implementation of the concept of issuing tokenized securities through the mechanisms of the Belgrade Stock Exchange. A separate topic of the dialogue was the possible participation of the distributed ledger ecosystem in the 2027 World Expo, which is scheduled to be held in the Serbian capital.
The initiative to integrate distributed ledgers into the traditional financial environment reflects a global trend toward the digitization of capital markets. Consensys founder Joseph Lubin has previously expressed views on the prospects of a total transition of the global economy to digital format, which fully aligns with the strategic aspirations of the Balkan state. Siniša Mali emphasized the competitive advantages of the national economy, highlighting the stability of public finances, a developed information technology sector, and the availability of highly qualified specialists. According to the minister, the strategic goal is to transform the country into a launchpad for promising projects with subsequent scaling to European and global markets.
