MoonPay plans to launch infrastructure for AI agent payments

Payment company MoonPay announced the launch of infrastructure that allows AI to interact directly with blockchain. Stand-alone systems will have their own crypto pockets and the ability to manage digital assets without human input. The innovation is focused on making transactions with stablecoins, which act as a convenient calculation tool due to stability and speed.
The MoonPay solution opens the way to a so-called "agent economy," where algorithms can independently pay for services, transfer funds, and participate in DeFi protocols. Instead of conventional API integrations, the emphasis is on financial autonomy.
Development builds on MoonPay’s expertise in the crypto industry, including a partnership with Ripple: since 2024, the company has supported XRP and expanded its digital asset capabilities.
