New Heroes and Mysteries: What We Know About the Stranger Things Prequel

Netflix announced the creation of the series Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure, which will become part of the Stranger Things universe. The events will unfold in the 1950s in the town of Marion, located in the American state of Nevada. Thus, the action will shift to a different era and location: the original story was associated with Hawkins and took place in the 1980s.
The new project will focus on characters that viewers have not yet met. The creators are preparing a separate storyline that does not imply a direct continuation of the main series events. Netflix has not yet disclosed details of the story, but the short teaser released with the announcement draws attention to unidentified flying objects. Their appearance may become one of the key elements of the new mystery around which the narrative will be built.
The executive producers of the project will be Matt and Ross Duffer, the creators of the original Stranger Things. The showrunner duties will be taken on by Kate Trefry, who previously worked on the series. The first three episodes will be directed by British director Joe Wright, known for films such as Atonement and Pride & Prejudice. The release of Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure is planned for 2028.
