Nvidia Corporation is teaming up with the world's largest investment funds for the large-scale development of the computing infrastructure of artificial intelligence. The company plans to attract up to five hundred billion dollars of third-party capital, which will significantly expand its financial capabilities. The initiative involves such recognized market giants as Blackstone and BlackRock, which have extensive asset management experience. The agreement was also joined by Apollo Global Management and Brookfield Asset Management, whose investment portfolios cover many sectors of the economy. The investment bank Goldman Sachs and the KKR Foundation have also expressed their willingness to support this ambitious project, which underlines its high importance for the entire industry. The head of the company, Jensen Huang, personally offered cooperation to six major organizations, and all of them immediately agreed to participate in the program.
The main focus of the initiative will be on debt financing of computing infrastructure, which will provide access to cheap and long-term resources. The first financial transactions are expected to appear on the open market in the coming months. The artificial intelligence industry continues to show rapid growth, and the needs for its further development require huge investments. According to preliminary estimates, the construction of data centers and power plants will cost trillions of dollars, which forces key players to look for new forms of partnership. The production of modern chips also needs constant capital inflows, and the new initiative aims to partially address these growing needs.
It is planned to use the clients' computing power itself as collateral for transactions, which is a fairly common practice for such projects. Financing will be provided through private placements and specialized bonds. Nvidia, in turn, can provide additional financial support to individual projects in the amount of up to twenty-five percent of their potential profits. The company has already discussed with its partners the possibility of large-scale financing of the OpenAI laboratory: the amount of preliminary agreements reached two hundred and fifty billion dollars. In addition, the laboratory had previously planned to purchase Nvidia chips for a total of three hundred and fifty billion dollars. Thus, the new program not only expands the capabilities of corporate clients, but also forms a stable outline for long-term cooperation.
