On October 1, OKX launched perpetual futures on Quant (QNT) with leverage up to 50x. The QUANT/USDT contract opened at 08:00 UTC on the web platform, in the app, and via API, settled in USDT, with a funding rate typically every four hours, which may shorten to one hour upon reaching the limit. Leverage is available from 0.01x to 50x, index – QUANT/USDT, nominal 0.01 QNT.
The listing occurred after a sharp rise in QNT: from below $100 on September 25, the token surged above $300 by the end of the month. Currently, QNT is trading around $249, down 16% in a day, but maintaining a 178% increase over the week. The daily range is approximately $242–305, with a volume of about $451 million, which is 41% lower than the previous day. The market capitalization is around $3.62 billion, ranking 34th on CoinGecko, with approximately 15 million coins in circulation. OKX has not stated that the price increase was the reason for the listing and has not provided a forecast for the token. The weekly rise of QNT is 178% compared to less than 1% for the entire crypto market.
The main catalyst is The Clearing House's choice in favor of Quant. On September 24, the organization announced that Quant would provide a layer of interoperability and transaction management for the network of tokenized bank deposit settlements. The technology will connect it with RTP and CHIPS; current networks of The Clearing House process over $2 trillion daily. Bank participation is expected in the first half of 2027. Earlier, on September 24, UK Finance confirmed that seven British banks – Barclays, HSBC UK, Lloyds, Monzo, Nationwide, NatWest, and Santander – conducted live customer transactions with tokenized sterling deposits in the Great British Tokenised Deposit project. The platform was built by Quant, with project management led by EY, and legal rules by Linklaters.
Quant's CEO Gilbert Verdian called the American project a step towards programmable bank money; his words about future coverage remain the company's expectations, while The Clearing House confirmed Quant's role and the timeline for the first half of 2027.
