The Ondo Finance team has officially announced the launch of the Ondo Network, a specialized execution layer that represents an evolution of the previously announced Ondo Chain network. Unlike the traditional first-level blockchain, the new architecture uses secure hardware enclaves (Trusted Execution Environments, TEE) and a decentralized set of certifiers. This solution allows applications to work privately and with high speed, while cryptographically ensuring that only verified code is executed. The first product in this ecosystem was the Ondo Perps platform, designed for trading perpetual futures.
The transition from the concept of a public network to the level of execution is due to the technical challenges faced by the developers. The properties that make public blockchains in demand, such as decentralized consensus and full transparency, often contradict the requirements of trading platforms for execution speed and data privacy. In the new model, transactions are settled on a public blockchain, which is used exclusively for final settlement, while the execution of orders takes place inside secure environments. This ensures low latency, code verifiability, and a non-custodial architecture while maintaining decentralized security.
Representatives of Ondo Finance stressed that the change in the technological architecture will not affect the fundamental functions of the ONDO native token. The asset will retain its central role in the ecosystem and will be used as an incentive tool as the network of certifiers expands. Against the background of the publication of the news, the token exchange rate showed a slight recovery rebound, although it has not yet been able to fully compensate for the correction recorded on July 27, 2026 amid reports of the death of the founder of the project. The development continues to rely on the support of major institutional partners who previously participated in the Ondo Chain initiative, including Franklin Templeton and Google Cloud.
