Ondo Finance, one of the leading issuers of tokenized real assets (RWAs), is considering the possibility of acquiring a business in the wealthtech sector in the amount of 250 to 500 million dollars. According to informed sources, this transaction has the potential to become one of the most significant transactions in the history of the tokenization segment. Representatives of the organization noted that regular market assessment is a standard part of the fast-growing company's operational activities, but at the moment formal negotiations with specific parties are not underway, and financial consultants have not yet been involved.
As of July 2026, the total value of blocked funds (TVL) on the Ondo Finance platform has approached $3.5 billion, confirming its status as a key player in the RWA market. Founded by former Goldman Sachs employees in 2021, the company consistently implements a strategy of integrating traditional finance with blockchain infrastructure. Earlier, Ondo Global Markets confidentially filed an application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), declaring its intention to become the first issuer of tokenized shares under the strict supervision of the American regulator, calling the SEC's disclosure standards the "gold standard" for investors.
The potential Ondo Finance deal comes amid accelerating consolidation in the cryptocurrency industry. According to data from the analyst firm Architect Partners, in the second quarter of 2026, the total volume of announced mergers and acquisitions reached $12.9 billion, which was the second largest quarterly figure in the history of observations. The main areas of investor interest are asset tokenization infrastructure, stablecoins, custodial services, and institutional trading solutions. This trend is confirmed by such large transactions as the acquisition of the Bitnomial platform by the Kraken exchange for $ 550 million and the purchase of the Equiniti investment platform by Bullish for $ 4.2 billion.
