ORICO Enters the Laptop Market with Obook 15 AI Laptop

ORICO, typically known for its data storage and connectivity solutions, is officially entering the PC market with its first laptop, the Obook 15 AI Laptop. At its core is the AMD Ryzen 7 6800H: an eight-core, 16-thread processor with a boost up to 4.7 GHz. Graphics are powered by the integrated Radeon 680M. Memory options are 12 or 24 GB at 6,400 MT/s, and storage is up to 1 TB NVMe SSD, with a second M.2 slot allowing expansion up to 4 TB. While not the latest AMD SoC, the system is designed to be competitively priced. The laptop runs Windows 11 out of the box, and the cooling system offers Eco, Normal, and Performance modes.

The screen is a 15.6-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920×1080, anti-glare coating, 170° viewing angles, and wide-frequency dimming. It features Wi-Fi 6, a 54.29 Wh battery, and a 100 W charger. Additional features include a 180° hinge, a physical webcam shutter, a full-size keyboard with a numeric keypad, and a wide array of ports.

US pricing: $689.99 for the 12 GB / 256 GB version, $749.99 for 12 GB / 512 GB, and $899.99 for the top model with 24 GB and 1 TB. The Obook 15 is already available in the US and the Philippines; its target audience includes students, office users, and content creators, with attractive pricing being particularly important amid memory and storage shortages.

ORICO is also focusing on software: the package includes XiaoAo AI Super Agent, which combines 11 specialized AI assistants. According to the company, they help automate workflows, manage knowledge bases, and remotely control devices. How useful this is in everyday work depends on the implementation, but ORICO hopes that the software will make the Obook 15 stand out among regular work laptops.
