Peter Schiff Predicted Bitcoin Drop to $75,000

Bitcoin fell below the $80,000 mark, prompting economist Peter Schiff to suggest a further price drop to $75,000. In his view, if buyers fail to maintain this level, selling pressure may intensify. Schiff has long been critical of cryptocurrencies and prefers gold as a means of preserving capital. He sees the current market movement as confirmation of his stance, although his forecast remains a personal assessment and does not reflect a unified opinion among market participants.

The economist paid particular attention to the features of spot bitcoin ETFs in the US. These exchange-traded funds provide access to bitcoin's dynamics through traditional financial instruments without directly purchasing the cryptocurrency. However, the funds' shares are traded according to stock exchange schedules, while bitcoin itself is available 24/7. Due to this difference, ETF investors cannot make transactions on weekends when traditional markets are closed. If the cryptocurrency's price changes significantly during this time, holders of stock instruments will have to wait for trading to open before reacting to the situation.

Additional pressure on the market may arise if bitcoin consolidates below the psychologically significant $80,000 mark. Such movements can amplify negative sentiment and trigger new sales. Another risk factor is leveraged positions: if the collateral value decreases, exchanges may forcibly close trades, increasing sales volume. Market participants also monitor capital movements through spot bitcoin ETFs. An inflow of funds may indicate sustained demand, while a steady outflow could reflect declining investor interest. However, none of these indicators alone determines bitcoin's future dynamics.
