Peter Schiff Warns of Possible Bitcoin Drop Amid AI Stock Sell-Off

American economist and long-time cryptocurrency critic Peter Schiff warned of a potential further decline in Bitcoin (BTC) amid a sell-off of stocks related to artificial intelligence (AI). In a post on the social network X on November 5, 2026, he compared Bitcoin to a financial bubble and urged cryptocurrency holders to sell the asset. At the time of publication by BeInCrypto, the BTC rate was approximately 40% below its all-time high.

According to Schiff, market participants are paying too much attention to the potential AI bubble, underestimating the risks of Bitcoin. The economist believes that artificial intelligence has real value, whereas Bitcoin, in his assessment, does not. One of the factors for a possible further decline he mentioned was the results of the US midterm elections.

Factors Putting Pressure on Bitcoin

Cryptocurrency trader Ash Crypto also noted the market's instability. Among the factors hindering BTC's recovery, he listed geopolitical tensions around Iran, the decline in stock indices, the likelihood of an interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve (Fed), and major hacks of cryptocurrency platforms.

Meanwhile, market participants have differing views on BTC's future movement. Some analysts believe that the recent decline may be part of forming a price bottom rather than the start of a new prolonged drop.

Traders See Signs of Bear Market Ending

Trader Sminston Witt, who uses the power law model to analyze Bitcoin's price, believes the market may be near the lower boundary of the current cycle.

According to his observations, BTC briefly fell below the model's support zone but returned within its limits at a price of around $75,675. The analyst noted that in August, the $75,000 level corresponded to the 5th percentile of the model, and now it is the 4th. He views this dynamic as one of the signs of a gradual market recovery.

Trader Killa holds a similar position, believing that the bear market has already ended. In his assessment, in each market cycle, Bitcoin forms three major lows, but their appearance is not necessarily tied to a specific quarter of the year.

The analyst compared the current market structure to 2023, when two lows formed relatively close to each other after brief breakouts of price levels. Killa believes that the corrective bottom has already been passed, and the recent BTC decline is mainly related to the sell-off in traditional financial markets.

Thus, market participants' assessments remain opposing. Schiff warns of a potential continuation of Bitcoin's decline, while Sminston Witt and Killa see signs of a correction ending. There is no confirmation of the realization of any of these scenarios yet.
