Sony has introduced a new feature to the PlayStation Store - in some regions, the store now displays the price of games when they are released. Previously, the venue only showed up-to-date prices, which prevented players from assessing the real benefits of discounts. Publishers regularly lower the base cost of their projects over time, but prior to the update PS Store did not show initial figures.

Despite the innovation, gamers should still look to third-party services like PS Deals and PSprices. These platforms track the detailed history of price changes and all sales for PS4 and PS5 games. The new feature is convenient for quick evaluation, but does not show whether the maximum discount is in effect now.

There is also a downside to an update - offers of games with a constantly declining base price may seem more profitable than they actually are.
