Project Eleven and Quantus plan to integrate the Quantus network with Strongpoint, Project Eleven's institutional platform for storing post-quantum blockchain assets. Quantus has joined as a development partner, with support planned for the first quarter of 2027.
Crypto custody typically assumes that the cryptography protecting today's keys will remain the same tomorrow. Project Eleven is building a solution based on the possibility that this may not be the case. The integration itself is not as interesting as the problem Strongpoint addresses. If quantum-resistant blockchains emerge, they are unlikely to adopt a single standard simultaneously: different networks may adopt different signature schemes, follow different timelines, and require different key migration procedures. Institutions cannot be expected to rebuild their entire security stack every time the way signatures work changes. Strongpoint separates these layers: institutional controls—authentication, transaction approval, key management, audit—are in a common system, while the cryptography below can change according to the network. Project Eleven calls this crypto-agility. Quantus will help refine the architecture on a network built around post-quantum security.
The partnership follows the launch of Strongpoint with the Zcash Foundation as the first partner. The platform is already being tested on networks with different requirements. Quantum computing remains a long-term risk rather than an immediate threat: there is no known machine for mass key extraction. The concern is what happens if powerful quantum systems emerge while trillions of dollars in assets are protected by assumptions that cannot be trusted. For retail holders, a network upgrade will provide a new type of address, while institutions face a much more complex migration: policies, equipment, compliance, signatories, and audits depend on the existing key architecture. The integration has not yet been launched, but rebuilding infrastructure after cryptography becomes urgent would be the worst time to start.
