The prototype of the new Tesla Roadster demonstrated unique acceleration capabilities

On October 15, Tesla and SpaceX unveiled a prototype of the new Roadster at the SpaceX test site in McGregor, Texas. The electric car accelerates to 60 miles per hour (about 97 km/h) in less than a second using boosters. The prototype can drive upside down and perform spiral jumps in the air. Elon Musk, CEO of both companies, explained that a demonstration with an audience is needed to emphasize that this is not AI or superintelligence. "We need the public to prove that this is not AI or SI," he said.

At the Roadster showcase, it demonstrated the ability to accelerate to 97 km/h in 0.81 seconds. The SpaceX engines develop a thrust of 80 kilonewtons and are powered by compressed air, eliminating the need for separate fuel. However, it should be noted that the use of these features may raise concerns about legality and practical application on urban roads. The Roadster will be released in three configurations: Performance, Thrust, and Rocket. Only the Rocket version will receive engines for vertical movement. According to Musk, 'this will be the only manually operated car that Tesla produces.'

Production of the new Roadster is expected in 2028, as confirmed on stage. However, more detailed technical specifications and pricing have not yet been disclosed. It is important to remember that Tesla already has experience with conflicts with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and compliance with all necessary safety standards and regulations will also be an important aspect when releasing this model.
