The meme coin launch platform Pump Fun has introduced the Custom Pairs feature, allowing users to create tokens on the Solana network linked to tokenized stocks, major cryptocurrencies, metals, and other assets. This new tool was launched in partnership with Sunrise. At the start, 20 new trading pairs have been added, bringing the total number of available pairs from Sunrise and xStocks to 93.
Users can create their own token by choosing a name, image, ticker, and desired base pair. Pump Fun noted that they plan to add new assets in the future. Custom Pairs operate with the same fees as the Bonding Curve and PumpSwap protocols as standard token launches. Creators have the option to set a creator fee ranging from 0.05% to 1% or launch a token in cashback format. For cashback tokens, the fee is 0.3% on the Bonding Curve and 0.05% after transitioning from it. Fees are paid in the base token of the pair: for example, for a token paired with NVDA, the reward is received in NVDA. Creators can distribute the creator fee among a maximum of 10 recipients. After setting the recipients and shares, the configuration is locked, but it can be updated once when changing the token administrator through the CTO.
Pump Fun has paid special attention to the PUMP token. For an already created token, the choice of Custom Pair is final – the pair cannot be changed after launch. New tokens can be transferred to another administrator via the CTO, and there is no additional tax on the transfer for Custom Pairs.
Previously, the platform had already implemented a supply reduction strategy: in April 2026, the team burned all previously repurchased $PUMP worth approximately $370 million, after which the circulating supply of the token decreased by 36%.
