RFI and Safeheron to Launch Post-Quantum Cryptography Testing

Responsible Fintech Institute and Safeheron have officially announced the launch of a cross-regional project to test post-quantum cryptography for digital asset transactions. International banks and regulators have joined this important initiative. The main goal of the pilot is to assess how quantum-resistant infrastructure handles wallet generation and on-chain transfers. Safeheron is the technology partner, while RFI coordinates the participants.

The technological foundation of the program is based on a protocol supporting the NIST FIPS 204 digital signature standard. Researchers plan to test wallet generation and transfers in the NEAR testnet. They will also separately verify the cross-border compatibility of systems and their operational resilience. Confirmed participants include regulators from Abu Dhabi, Bhutan, and Malta, as well as commercial banks Bison Bank and DK Bank. In the first phase, government entities will act as observers and will later join the management.

Following comprehensive testing, the authors will release a detailed document with the results and open the source code of the underlying technology for independent auditing. Company representatives linked the pilot launch to the urgent need to prepare critical financial infrastructure for the transition to post-quantum cryptography. The project will clearly demonstrate how innovative solutions perform under the strict models of regulated financial organizations. Previously, the crypto bank Anchorage Digital also presented a strategy for preparing institutional assets for the post-quantum era.
