Ripple continues to adapt its stablecoin RLUSD by moving it from XRP Ledger to Ethereum. This decision reflects the company's desire to manage the asset's liquidity more flexibly across different blockchain networks. On September 6, 1,363,614.85 RLUSD were burned or sent to an unspendable wallet on XRP Ledger. The transaction amount was approximately $1.36 million, attracting the attention of analysts and market participants.
Immediately after the burn, an identical volume of tokens was created on Ethereum. This sequence of actions indicates that Ripple is conducting a migration or rebalancing of RLUSD liquidity between XRP Ledger and Ethereum. This does not increase or decrease the total supply of the stablecoin but merely changes the distribution of existing funds between networks.
Such operations are important for maintaining the availability of RLUSD across different platforms. XRP Ledger is traditionally considered the primary network for this asset; however, expanding its presence on Ethereum opens access to a broader ecosystem of decentralized applications and services. The movement of part of the supply may be related to the need to ensure sufficient liquidity for trading pairs, settlements, or integrations with DeFi protocols operating on Ethereum. Ripple has not officially disclosed the exact reasons for the movement. The company has not provided additional comments on whether this is a one-time operation or part of a larger strategy for managing the supply of RLUSD. The further movement of the asset will depend on liquidity needs on each of the supported networks. Analysts will continue to monitor on-chain transactions to understand how the company distributes its stablecoin between XRP Ledger and Ethereum in the long term.
