Saber Money has secured strategic funding from stablecoin issuer Tether and Titan Fund (owned by CMCC Global) to expand cross-border payments in the Asia-Pacific region and the Gulf. The company did not disclose the amount and valuation. The capital will be used for new regulatory licenses, banking partnerships, and B2B payments; the key is local banking connections and approvals where transfers are expensive or rely on intermediaries.
Saber is building a payment infrastructure that allows financial institutions, fintechs, and businesses to transfer funds via stablecoins. Services cover transfers, salaries, and business payments through API. Licenses and authorizations are in place in Canada, the EU, India, and Australia; the group manages the Indian crypto exchange Mudrex. Over nine months, volumes have grown more than sixfold – billions of dollars in 40+ countries; over 90% of payments are completed in less than a minute. The company did not disclose market breakdowns and average transaction size.
“We are working to make stablecoin payment infrastructure accessible to businesses in the APAC and Gulf regions, where demand for international transfers is growing,” said Saber CEO Edul Patel. The company is developing services for paying overseas suppliers, treasury management, and transferring working capital between countries, including 24/7 payments outside banking hours.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino called emerging markets an important area for stablecoin payments, noting Saber’s regulatory presence and access to financial systems in Asia and the Middle East. Titan Fund co-founder Xiaoxin Yang emphasized Asia's role: the region accounts for about 53% of global remittances, and B2B stablecoin payments could reach $5 trillion by 2035. The source of the estimate was not named in the announcement.
Existing investors in Saber include Y Combinator and Nexus Ventures. Previously, Tether supported EFY Finance (October 13; 17 countries, 25,000+ accounts) and LemFi (May 2026; USDT settlements for Africa and Asia). In July, Hyundai Motor conducted a $20,000 USDT transfer on Avalanche between its divisions in the US and Mexico – the settlement took about 7 minutes.
