Securitize and LG CNS Collaborate to Develop Tokenized Assets in Korea

Securitize has signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korean technology partner LG CNS to develop tokenized assets as South Korea prepares to introduce new regulations for tokenized securities. Securitize shares surged nearly 8%, reaching about $12.60 in Tuesday trading, outperforming most major crypto-related stocks, before pulling back later in the morning. The company began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in July after completing a merger with SPAC Cantor Equity Partners II.

Last week, South Korea's Financial Services Commission proposed rules governing the issuance and circulation of tokenized stocks, bonds, funds, and other securities. The new regime will take effect in February 2027. The partnership between Securitize and LG CNS aims to develop digital asset infrastructure for financial institutions in South Korea. The companies will explore the creation of tokenized funds, stocks, and stablecoins, as well as opportunities in the broader Asia-Pacific market. As part of this collaboration, LG CNS also introduced a blockchain infrastructure platform to help banks and other financial companies support stablecoins and tokenized securities.

Securitize has already established itself as a key player in the tokenized real assets market, which is approximately $40 billion. A significant portion of early growth has been in US Treasuries, private credit, and other income-generating assets. The tokenized stock market has recently reached record levels. According to RWA xyz, it is valued at approximately $3.2 billion, with a 10.6% increase over the past 30 days. Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo stated at ETHConf in July that even modest adoption of tokenized stocks could significantly impact the overall cryptocurrency market and help achieve a total capitalization of $5 trillion.
