Sonic Labs announced plans to transfer approximately 13 million S tokens through a strategic OTC agreement. The transfer is expected to occur within 24–48 hours with the involvement of a long-term partner who will help the network reach users through an existing network of counterparties.
The S token is trading around $0.053, with immediate support at $0.052 and resistance around $0.060. As of October 22, at an indicative price of $0.053035, the indicative market value of the 13 million token transfer is approximately $689,455; this is a calculation based on the current market quote, not the announced deal price. The volume corresponds to approximately 0.33% of the reported circulation of 3.885 billion S. Since this is an anticipated transfer of existing tokens, the announcement itself does not confirm a new issuance or dilution.
Sonic previously reported that about 32.69 million S remained unclaimed after the October 15 deadline for receiving allocations of the Season 1 and Season 2 airdrops. Tokens locked after the deadline could be directed to permanent burning, but the final volume of burned tokens is not established.
Since the management change at Sonic in June, Andre Cronje, Michael Kong, and David Richardson have left the organization; Matt Visser became the CEO, and Costa Kourkoumelis the COO. The project had previously discussed with investors from Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America the possibilities for commercial development of the network.
Spot market trading volume reached approximately $38.71 million, while open interest in futures fell by 13.35% to $31.44 million; futures volume decreased by about 30% to $64.25 million. A net inflow of approximately $120,110 was recorded on October 22. S is trading down nearly 6% over 24 hours but maintains a 35% increase over the previous month. The price has retreated from October highs above $0.07; immediate support is around $0.052, then $0.050, with resistance around $0.060 and $0.070.
