Sony unveiled a pair of limited-edition controllers during a special broadcast. The DualSense controllers are styled after Grand Theft Auto. The manufacturer will release the accessories in two base color options. Both the black and white versions belong to the limited series. Pre-orders for the accessories will open on September 10 of this year. The accessories are set to launch on November 19, 2026. That date coincides with the release day of the game itself. Each controller will retail for $85. Sales will go through the official PlayStation Direct store and participating retailers. The run will be limited both in time and in the number of units available. Sony specifically noted the global nature of the edition's restrictions. Buyers will be able to order the accessories from participating retailers in the network.
The design of both versions is identical, differing only in base color. The grips feature engraved palm trees from the fictional state of Leonida. This pattern references the iconic city of Vice City. The touchpad bears the official logo of the sixth installment in the series. The back of the controller is adorned with the Grand Theft Auto series emblem. The overall look is accented with bright pink highlights on the buttons. The d-pad and face buttons have all been rendered in pink. This combination echoes the neon palette seen in Rockstar's trailers. The neon palette ties in with the artwork from the sixth entry in the franchise.
Technically, this is a standard DualSense with no changes to its internals. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback remain intact. The built-in microphone has also been retained in this cosmetic edition. The edition is timed to coincide with the launch of one of the most anticipated games in recent memory. That kind of framing suggests the item will disappear from shelves quickly. Units are expected to sell out almost immediately after pre-orders go live. The limited series will quickly become a must-have for collectors.
