Startup World Labs raises $1 billion, focusing on spatial intelligence

World Labs, founded by AI researcher Fei-Fei Li, has completed a $1 billion investment round. The funds raised will be used to develop spatial modeling technologies.

The largest participant was Autodesk Inc., which invested $200 million. Other investors include Andreessen Horowitz, NVIDIA Corp. and Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Emerson Collective, Fidelity Management & Research Company and Sea also participated in the round.

The company's valuation parameters have not been officially disclosed, but Bloomberg previously reported negotiations at around $5 billion.

World Labs develops models that form spatially consistent digital environments. Its product, Marble, allows users to create stable 3D worlds based on images, video footage, or text descriptions.

Fei-Fei Li previously participated in the creation of ImageNet, a database of millions of images that became the foundation for the development of computer vision technologies and accelerated progress in the field of modern artificial intelligence.
