LEGO is preparing to release one of the largest sets in its Star Wars saga lineup. The new product is a model of the Super Star Destroyer Executor, well known to franchise fans from the film The Empire Strikes Back, where the massive ship served as Darth Vader's personal flagship. In the original cinematic trilogy, the dreadnought impressed audiences with its sheer scale, and the set's designers sought to faithfully capture that epic grandeur in plastic form.
The finished display piece stretches 136 centimeters in length, making it one of the largest models in the brand's entire history. By comparison, many previous flagship sets from the premium Ultimate Collector Series rarely exceeded the one-meter mark. To prevent the complex structure from warping under its own weight, the assembled Super Star Destroyer model is designed to be mounted on a dedicated display stand included in the set.
The piece count deserves special attention — the set contains 6,130 elements. In addition to the Super Star Destroyer itself, the box will include a miniature replica of a standard Star Destroyer. The LEGO designers intend for this miniature to give buyers a vivid sense of the flagship vessel's colossal scale, underscoring its dominant position within the Imperial fleet.
Alongside the two spacecraft, buyers will be able to build seven minifigures of key characters from the saga. These will include Darth Vader himself, legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett, and other well-known figures from the galaxy's criminal underworld. Independent enthusiasts have previously demonstrated strong interest in this subject: a builder from Singapore unveiled their own version of the Super Star Destroyer at a scale of 1:29,000, using 1,651 pieces to create it.
International sales of the collector's set will launch on October 4 at a price of $800. This price point places the new release among the most expensive and substantial LEGO Star Wars products in the line's history. The model is aimed primarily at adult collectors and devoted franchise fans who are ready to invest both time and money in creating an impressive display piece for their interiors.
