Michael Saylor, co-founder of Strategy, commented on the next sale of digital assets by the corporate treasury. On August 3, 2026, the organization sold 1,638 units of bitcoin, using the proceeds to repay dividend obligations and a program to buy back STRC class shares. In his statement, the CEO emphasized that his public calls to "never sell bitcoins" referred exclusively to his personal portfolio, which remains completely untouched. Saylor recalled that Strategy is a public company that, since 2020, has openly declared the possibility of adjusting its crypto portfolio within the framework of flexible capital management.

Despite the transition to a new strategy for monetization of crypto assets at the end of June 2026, the total volume of coins sold by the company reached 5,258 units totaling about $335 million. The market reacted to this news rather cautiously, since such operations are no longer a complete surprise to institutional investors. Nevertheless, a critical attitude remains within the cryptocurrency community, as part of the audience perceived the previous rhetoric of the leadership as an unconditional promise of a complete rejection of sales. This gap between the expectations of retail investors and corporate practices has become a catalyst for discussions about the transparency of the issuer's communications.

Peter Schiff, a well-known skeptic, sharply criticized the company's management, accusing Saylor of deliberately misleading the public in order to create a false impression of the inviolability of the strategy. According to the opponent, the lack of timely explanations indicates either deliberate deception or incompetence in managing reputational risks. Additional pressure on the company is exerted by the position of Mike Novogratz, CEO of Galaxy Digital, who directly blamed Strategy's actions for the current crisis of confidence and the negative price dynamics of bitcoin. As a result, the corporation has to balance the need to optimize its capital and maintain the loyalty of its target audience.
