Strategy reported a profit of $21 billion on digital assets for Q3 2026. From October 1 to 4, 2026, it acquired 334 BTC for $28.7 million, increasing its holdings to 848,000 BTC. During the same period, the company repurchased its preferred shares of Stretch for $176.3 million. Of this amount, $102.6 million was spent to repurchase 1,033,168 shares in the last days of September, and another $73.7 million was used for 740,634 shares in the first four days of October. Of the repurchased amount, $154.1 million was taken from the USD Cash balance, while $22.2 million came from interest on cash and short-term investments. The preferred share buyback program remains with a balance of $547.2 million.
The company also sold 92,894 shares of MSTR for $15.7 million, which were directed towards purchasing Bitcoin, with another $13 million taken from the USD Cash balance. Currently, its dollar assets are distributed between a cash reserve of $4.88 billion, which accounts for preferred dividends and interest payments on debts, and a USD cash balance of $833.4 million, intended for general needs, including Bitcoin purchases. During the week ending October 4, $142.5 million was drawn from this reserve for dividend and interest payments.
The quarterly profit is the largest reported. Strategy values Bitcoin at fair value, and $20.91 billion reflects price increases throughout the quarter, considering $1.88 billion in related deferred tax expenses. The average price across the position is $75,440.70, meaning that the coins purchased last week cost nearly 14 percent more than the average. Thus, the company continues to increase its Bitcoin holdings while significantly larger amounts are directed towards repurchasing shares trading below their par value of 100.
