Strategy Shareholders Approved Daily Dividends for Four Preferred Stocks

Shareholders of Strategy (MSTR) approved an amendment for daily dividends on four preferred stocks, the company announced on October 28. Preliminary results: 99.3% of votes cast were in favor, according to Executive Chairman Michael Saylor. The amendment allows STRF, STRC, STRK, and STRD to accrue dividends every calendar day, including weekends and holidays.
The proposal emerged on September 25, when the company asked holders to attend a special meeting on October 28. Strategy stated that the change "will reduce reinvestment delay, enhance liquidity and market efficiency, and increase price stability." The company also noted that the improvements could benefit common stockholders by enhancing the appeal of its digital credit instruments and expanding the capital market toolset for its bitcoin treasury strategy.
Under the approved structure, dividends are accrued daily but paid on the next business day. The scheduled rates and total dividend obligations remain unchanged.
Everything depends on the board of directors' decision. If the board approves the changes and the documents are filed, the first record and payment dates for STRC will be November 1 and 2, 2026, and for STRF, STRK, and STRD, January 1 and 4, 2027. The dates also depend on operational readiness.
STRC pays a variable rate that the company can adjust at its discretion. The rate for the month ending June 30, 2026, was 11.50% according to the quarterly report. In June, shareholders approved STRC's transition to bi-monthly payments. The idea is that STRC helps Strategy raise capital through preferred shares with a stable price of $100 and variable yield, then directs funds towards continuous bitcoin purchases—a potential global cost averaging machine.
The vote came after bitcoin entered a bear market. This year, Strategy slowed purchases and sold some assets to finance dividends, interest, and buybacks. MSTR shares have fallen nearly 50% over the past year, though they have risen almost 1000% since 2020. Earlier this week, Strategy announced a pause in bitcoin purchases, maintaining 848,517 BTC acquired for $64.02 billion at an average price of $75,446. The company spent $204.9 million on STRC buybacks, retaining a reserve of $4.83 billion.
For comparison: bitcoin treasury company Strive pays dividends on SATA every business day—a practice that began on June 16 after transitioning from monthly payments.
