TeraWulf, which started as a Bitcoin miner, announced that it had signed a 20-year data center lease agreement with Anthropic. The agreement provides for AI infrastructure to be located on the Justified Data campus in Kentucky with a capacity of ~401 MW of critical IT load. The first capacity is expected to be launched in the second half of 2027, with full commissioning by early 2028. The expected contract revenue for the duration of the agreement is about $19 billion.

The CEO of TeraWulf, Paul Prager, called the deal a confirmation of the strategy of business transformation towards AI infrastructure. At the same time, the company sold its 50.1% stake in the Abernathy joint venture to a group of investors led by Fluidstack for ~$450 million with a capital premium. The funds released will be used to develop data centers for AI owned by TeraWulf.
