The BitMEX crypto exchange, founded eleven years ago by businessman Arthur Hayes, has officially announced the complete cessation of its operations. The Board of Directors of HDR Global Trading, the owner and operator of the platform, made this decision based on a comprehensive strategic analysis of the company's activities and the current situation in the crypto industry. Registration of new users has already been suspended. According to the official schedule, starting on August twenty-sixth, traders will only be able to reduce their open positions, while opening new deals will become impossible. By September twenty-third, all remaining active positions will be closed automatically, so the exchange strongly recommends that customers withdraw their funds as early as possible.

After the final closing of trading, access to user accounts will be retained solely for viewing the balance, transaction history, and initiating withdrawals. For clients who do not have time to transfer assets to other platforms, a commission of fifty dollars per transaction or one percent per annum of the account balance will be provided.

The administration also warned about possible delays in processing transactions due to the high load on the network, emphasizing the lack of accelerated withdrawal services and warning users against fraudulent offers. BitMEX was founded in 2014, and in 2016 it launched the XBTUSD contract, which became the first widely demanded perpetual futures for cryptocurrencies with leverage. The total trading volume for this instrument, according to the exchange itself, exceeded three trillion dollars.
